Use your DevReady.Ai project inside Lovable through MCP
DevReady.Ai can connect to Lovable through MCP, allowing Lovable to access the structured planning context you’ve already created for your project.
That means you can move from planning into building without rewriting your project requirements from scratch.
Once connected, Lovable can work from the DevReady.Ai project context available through the MCP connection.
Before You Start
Make sure you have:
- A DevReady.Ai project
- Your DevReady.Ai project key
- Access to your Lovable account
- The feature you want to build prepared in DevReady.Ai
For the best workflow, review your feature first, move it to DevReady and send it to the Build Queue before starting the build.
Step 1: Open Lovable Settings
Log in to your Lovable dashboard.
From the bottom-right area of the dashboard, open Settings.
Then go to the Connectors section. Depending on the Lovable interface you see, this may appear as Connectors or Connectors have moved.

Step 2: Add a Custom MCP Connection
Inside the Connectors area, search for: MCP
Select: Custom – Connect your own MCP
This opens the form for adding your DevReady.Ai MCP server. MCP connection guide for Lovable

Step 3: Enter Your DevReady.Ai MCP Details
In the Add MCP Server form, add:
Server name
You can choose any name that helps you recognise the connection.
For example: DevReady Dev
Server URL
The guide uses this format: https://dev-api-mcp.devready.ai/mcp?projectKey=YOURPROJECTKEY
Replace YOURPROJECTKEY with the project key from your own DevReady.Ai project.
For example, if your project key is TPA, the URL would be: https://dev-api-mcp.devready.ai/mcp?projectKey=TPA
Select OAuth as the authorisation method.
Then select: Add & Authorize

Where Do I Find My Project Key?
Your project key identifies the DevReady.Ai project you want Lovable to connect to.
Use the key from the specific project you intend to build.
Important: Make sure the project key in your MCP URL matches the correct DevReady.Ai project.

Step 4: Authorise DevReady.Ai
After selecting Add & Authorize, a new browser window or tab will open.
Select: Login to DevReady.Ai
Enter the email address associated with your DevReady.Ai account and sign in using the OTP provided.

Step 5: Accept the Connection
After signing in, you’ll be asked to authorise the application.
Review the request and select: Accept
Once accepted, you’ll be returned to the Lovable workflow.

Step 6: Check That DevReady.Ai Is Connected
Once the connection is authorised, your MCP server should appear in Lovable using the server name you entered.
You should also see the DevReady.Ai MCP tools that are available through the connection.
This confirms that Lovable can communicate with your DevReady.Ai project.

Step 7: Start Using DevReady.Ai in Lovable
Once connected, you can begin using the DevReady.Ai MCP connection from the Lovable chat.
At this point, your Lovable build can work with the project context available through DevReady.Ai.
For example, you can start the build by asking Lovable to work from the DevReady.Ai project and the features you’ve already prepared.

Recommended DevReady.Ai Workflow
The connection works best when you plan the feature before asking Lovable to build it.
A simple workflow is

Already Connected? Start With the Build Queue
If your MCP connection is already set up, you do not need to repeat the connection process each time you want to work on a feature.
Instead:
- Prepare the feature in DevReady.Ai
- Change its status to DevReady
- Save the feature
- Select Send to Build Queue
- Continue the build from Lovable using your DevReady.Ai MCP connection
That keeps your planning and build workflow connected.
Troubleshooting
Lovable Cannot See My DevReady.Ai Project
Check that the project key in the MCP URL matches the project you want to use.
The URL should follow this structure: https://dev-api-mcp.devready.ai/mcp?projectKey=YOURPROJECTKEY
I Cannot Authorise the Connection
Make sure you are signing into the correct DevReady.Ai account.
After selecting Add & Authorize, log in to DevReady.Ai using your email and OTP, then select Accept on the authorisation screen.
The MCP Server Is Connected, but My Build Queue Is Empty
Check the feature in DevReady.Ai.
Before it can be sent to the Build Queue:
- Open the feature
- Change Feature Status from Todo to DevReady
- Save the change
- Select Send to build queue
Then return to your build workflow.
The Lovable Interface Looks Different
Lovable may update where connection settings appear or how the Connectors interface looks.
Look for Settings → Connectors and search for MCP. The core process remains the same:
Custom MCP → Server URL → OAuth → Authorise
